Mechanical Engineering Research Day (MERD’16), 31 March 2016

On 31 March 2016, Universiti Teknikal Malaysia Melaka has organized a conference under Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, namely Mechanical Engineering Research Day (MERD’16).

The objective or MERD’16 is for the scientists, scholars, researchers and students from UTeM to present their findings of original research works and also to introduce and promote the UTeM research activities in the scientific field of mechanical engineering through poster presentations and publications, to offer mentoring through senior researchers/scientists, and to foster the building of networks through the informal style of the event.

Six (6) teams of students/ staffs from the MCRL laboratory have participated in the poster exhibition with the following research field: linear & rotary electromagnetic actuator, mobile robot, PMA actuator and X-Y ball screw mechanism.

One paper was awarded among the “Top 10 Best Poster Presentation Award”; under Dr. Mariam supervision.

PERKESO Rehabilitation Centre Visit (4 March 2016)

On 4th March 2016, a group of students from Motion Control Research Laboratory visited the PERKESO Rehabilitation Center located at Lot PT 7263, Bandar Hijau, Hang Tuah Jaya, Melaka. The rehabilitation center provides various services including physiotherapy, optometry and speech rehabilitation, occupational therapy, vocational rehabilitation and robotic therapy. Each of these services targets on helping disabled PERKESO contributors to recover themselves and return them to workplace. This visit aims at giving the students insight in the available rehabilitation facilities and routines, such that future researches on physical rehabilitation can be further explored.
